Hope you’re all having a good week so far 🙂
I’m back with another review, but this time it’s a review of something quote different for me. This is the first time I’ve ever tried out a home teeth whitening kit so I have nothing to go by other than what I’ve experienced with this one.
So I was contacted by the lovely team at WhiteWash Laboratories who asked if I’d be interested in reviewing their Nano teeth whitening kit, and of course I jumped straight at the chance as 1) I really would like white teeth (who doesn’t) and 2) I was looking into home teeth whitening kits anyway so this came at the perfect time :). So firstly, thank you WhiteWash Laboratories for sending me this!
I received the Nano Intensive Teeth Whitening Kit which retails at £39.99 which I think is such a reasonable price for what you get in it.
In the kit you get;
- 14 sets of intensive whitening strips
- 2 intensive whitening gel syringes
- 2 boil and bite trays
I also received the whitening toothpaste and the floss which I’m not sure comes with that bundle as it doesn’t say, but it might do, and if now they can be purchased separately.
First of all expectations wise, I didn’t really know what to expect because I’d never tried anything like this before so it was all new to me, and with the results I just expected to see a slight different nothing too drastic as this is stuff you do at home. On the website the company claim…
‘The Intensive Teeth Whitening Kit has been clinically tested and proven to be safe and effective on your teeth. On average, it has been proven to whiten teeth by 3.6 shades after just one application.’
3.6 shades is quite a lot, so I was really excited to get stuck in.
First of all before I done anything was read the little instruction booklet to see what I needed to do first. I thought I’d start with moulding my trays to get them ready to put into my mouth.
This bit is much easier than expected. I literally just boiled some water in the kettle then poured some into a glass and dipped the mould into it separately and counted 10-15 seconds before it started to distort then put in your mouth and suck so the plastic sit right around your teeth and then leave for about 30 seconds, then do the same with the bottom.
After thats done you’re pretty much ready to go!
You start by brushing your teeth with the toothpaste if you have that to make sure your teeth are clean before then applying the teeth whitening strips.
The teeth whitening strips come in sets of 2, a longer one for the top teeth and a shorter one for the bottom.
All you need to do is peel the strip from the plastic and place the gel side (the sticky side) to your teeth on the gums so the gel covers your teeth. You then do the same for the bottom set.
Leave this on for an hour…
tick tock tick tock
Once the 60 minutes has passed you remove the gel strips and rinse your mouth with water.
Even after this stage you can notice your teeth are whiter than before because of the gel that has been setting on your teeth. It is a bit of a strange feeling the first time you do it, but to be honest I was pleasantly surprised as the gel didn’t taste half as bad as I anticipated. It actually didn’t taste bad at all, and even had minty taste – result!
After this step you then use the mouth guards – you use the gel in the syringe and apply to both the top and bottom mouth guards so the gel is at the front which will sit nicely on your teeth.
Leave these in for 35 minutes and then rinse your mouth and the guards out thoroughly. With these I found that I produced a lot of saliva, but that’s completely normal because you salivate when you have something in your mouth anyway.
The gel in this tasted really minty and wasn’t nasty at all, and again I was pleasantly surprised.
So even after the first time, I noticed a difference which sound strange but I really did and so did my boyfriend. After using the whole kit, I do think my teeth are whiter than before, and for a home teeth whitening kit, this is pretty good!
I think if you’re not looking to pay hundreds to get your teeth whitened professionally, then it’s worth spending £40 or so on a home kit which will improve the colour of your teeth pretty quickly!
I hope this was useful! Have you tried home teeth whitening before?
