I know we are well into December and Christmas is basically already upon us (well so it seems) but I’ve been enjoying creative some festive images with some really cute christmassy props! So I thought I’d note down a few places for where you can pick up some bits and get your photos looking as festive as possible in the cheapest & easiest way!
Where To Buy Festive Photo Props
I have been picking up a few loving little bit from various places, and so I wanted to share these with you. Good news is as well, they’re really not expensive but make photos look that little bit extra – which is what we all like here!
To start with I’d suggest collecting some really pretty/ neutral baubles. I really like anything that’s white/ gold/ silver and anything sparkly. Glitter, give me all the glitter. Next have some really nice baubles actually and Jordan even picked up some cute ones with our initials on them! They were only £2.50 each too! They add some nice depth and shape to a photo as it’s nice to mix up some harsh square/rectangular shapes with some nice spherical ones.
Fake snow SCREEMS festiveness and I just love the way adding a sprinkle of snow can instantly make a photo look so Christmassy. It really is super cheap and I picked up some of the loose snow from eBay. It’s only a couple of pounds and although can be quite (okay a lot) messy, it really does add that extra effect and I think it’s perfect. I’ve been meaning to pick up some of this stuff since last year and I’m so glad I did!
Bells and Feathers
Get yourself to Poundland!! I randomly went in there one day last week to collect some decorations for our office, and I come across some perfect photos props. They had some really nice accessories that I thought would look great in my flatlays. I picked up some assorted silver bells and a pack of white feathers and they were both obviously £1! Such a bargain and I could have picked up so much more.
Small Star Confetti
I love how confetti looks in a photo and it’s something about the small gold and silver star confetti that I’m obsessed with! The beautiful Gemma inspired me to get some of this as I see her use it in her flatlays and I think it looks so great! Ps, you should really check out her blog/ photos they really are inspiring! I picked this up from eBay as well and again it was only a couple of pounds for a small bag, but a little goes a long way 🙂
Candles are an essential in my flat anyway as not only do they look pretty, the obviously make the rooms smell amazing too. I talk a lot about candles on my blog as they really are my go-to for accessorising but I love how affordable they are and also how nice they can look in photos. I love going to TK Maxx or Homesense and having a browse round there as they always have some great offers on candles.
Wrapping Paper and String
Something else that’s really cheap and easy to pick up down the Christmas isles in shops is some nice classy wrapping paper and some string (just the brown rope type you get) I picked up some lovely bits from Wilkinson’s – they had a great selection of nice paper and bows etc to wrap presents with.
