I was definitely meant to post yesterday, buy hey, does it really make a difference I’m posting today? No I guess not. Unfortunately I had to work last evening as I had an event, so didn’t get home till about 8 and had to eat, have a bath and to be completely honest I was so so so tired. Still am. Always.
On to the review……
I really wanted to give my honest review about this product seeing as there is so much hype about the L’oreal clay masks.
If you haven’t already heard of them, there a currently three versions of the clay masks; Purity, Detox and Glow.
I picked up the glow one (because it all honesty I liked the idea of glowy skin) and in Boots and it was on offer £5.99. Although it comes in a nice glass square like pot, you actually only get 50ml of product. However, I do like the little pot it comes in and is quote aesthetic.
Look: As you can see from the photos the mask is actually a strange red in colour and that’s because it contains red algae (slightly strange).
Smell: I actually don’t mind the smell of it, I’ve read that some people do not like it, but I actually think it smells quite fresh in a weird way. I guess it might be the fact people know it contains algae which, lets face it, isn’t the best smelling thing in the world. BUT I can’t smell that at all.
Feel/consistency: So it’s quite a smooth feel with small grains that help exfoliate the surface of the skin, but It’s not particularly thick. It takes quite a bit of product to cover the face. The thing is, I quite like thick gritty masks that feel like there really covering my whole face. I don’t really feel this with this particular one unfortunately. I guess it’s just a preference.
Remove: I guess, because of my previous point about it not being to thick and heavy, you can remove it quite easily and quickly, which is quite good!
Overall result/ does it work?: When a product has something in it’s name that suggests it does something – I kind of expect it to do just that, otherwise whats the point of naming it that. Although I didn’t expect my face to glow like the sun after using this once (as that’s slightly unrealistic), however, I really didn’t notice that much of a difference. I mean, yes my skin felt a little smoother, like you expect after a face mask, but it certainly hasn’t looked brighter after using this a few times – which I really hoped to see.
So, do I rate this product? Hmmmm, well, I wouldn’t say you should go rush to buy one right now. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not terrible and it does achieve some good results, BUT it doesn’t do what is says it does on the tin for me if I’m being honest. However, I do want to give the other two a go, just to see how they compare!!
I have tried quite a few more masks that I prefer, one being LUSH Mask of Magnaminty, and the Vitamasques Manuka Honey one was just incredible. I recently tried this as it came in my Feb’s Glossybox and I am so impressed with this, I will be buying this again soon!
Have you tried any of these masks before? If so I’d love to hear what you think or if you could recommend any others?
