My New Foundation Must Have!

Happy Sunday lovelies!

I hope you’re all having a good one. I had quite a heavy one last night! We went into London and went to a comedy club (The 99 comedy club), which I highly recommend – I laughed continuously for about 2 and a half hours!

Anyway, I wanted to share this post with you, because I have become obsessed. I love it so much when you find the perfect foundation and guess what it’s a high street one and isn’t that expensive at all.

I’m one of those who doesn’t mind how much they spend on a foundation (within reason) because I think it is really key for my complexion to have a good base which offers full coverage. For years I have been using Estee Lauder’s Double Wear (and I do still swear by it) but at £32 a go, I wanted to try and find a good drug store one.

I asked my lovely Twitter followers which one they’d recommend for a full coverage, dewy finish foundation and a few came back with this one – Bourjous, Healthy Mix. So, I decided to give it a go, and it was only £10.

All I can say is – THANK YOU to all those beauties who recommended this. I LOVE IT.

I picked this up in shade ‘beige’ and it is a really good match for my skin tone! As I mentioned I wanted a foundation that leaves a dewy finish because although I love double wear, it is a matt finish and I do have dry skin so I wanted one that wouldn’t dry matt.

Although it leaves a dewy finish it isn’t intense so I wouldn’t say it leaves your face looking sweaty and clammy, but instead leaves more a glow. Also, I swear it smells like strawberries (bonus).

The product claims the following: Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation contains vitamins C, E and B5 that give skin an instant anit-fatigue effect. The hydrating formula keeps your complexion radiant and even for up to 16 hours

To be honest, I completely agree. It lasted all day and all night and still looked flawless when I got in at 2am this morning!

If you’ve tried this before, I’d love to know your thoughts. Or any other drug store full coverage foundations you can recommend? I’d love to hear!

Love,

Rebecca xx

I so love the formula of this foundation, I just wish it came in more shades! Unfortunately the shade closest to me is to pink, and there’s no shades for darker skin tones at all!

I have thought about getting this foundation for so long! I heard it wasn’t very full coverage and I use the Estee Lauder one too so if you think the coverage is full then I better check it out! xx

I used to use Bourjois Healthy Mix and loved it but I never repurchased it after I finished it. I loved how nice it made my skin feel and how hydrating it was. I think I’ll repurchase it soon after reading this and being reminded of how much I loved it!

I tried a sample of this a while ago and didn’t get round to buying a full bottle. This post reminded me of how much I loved it. It’s perfectly lightweight for the summer months too!

I normally use MAC studio fix fluid but this sounds like a great drug store option for me to try out as higher end branded foundations can hurt the purse a little! I also like the idea of trying a foundation with a more dewy finish as my skin is pretty dry & my regular foundation is also matte like yours is :). I’ll definitely be taking note of this one & I’ll be looking out for it next time I swing by any shops that might sell it.

Wow, this seems like a product not to be missed! I have been tempted to try the Estee Lauder double wear foundation for so long, but if this high Street alternative is just as good, I may not need to shell out the £32 for a bottle! thanks so much for sharing your review, I need to hit up boots and see if this thing really does smell like strawberries haha!

Just found your blog via Bloglovin and it’s gorgeous, as are your photos. I love the sound of this foundation, it sounds like it would suit my dry skin nicely and the fact that it smells of strawberries, yes please!
