The Ordinary Coverage Foundation For £6 – How Full Coverage Is It?

The Ordinary Coverage Foundation

Heyyyyy everyone, welcome back!

As usual, I’m on a foundation hype and have been going slightly mad!I’m thinking about doing a whole post where I rate all the foundations I own. For years and years, I stuck to one foundation, and one foundation only – Estee Lauder Double Wear. And while I love this foundation so much, sometime the price gets in the way, and a girl hasn’t got over £30 to spend on a foundation! Times are toughhhhhhh.

So anyway, I decided to finally buy The Ordinary Coverage Foundation, as I am coverage girl, and I like the full coverage look (especially in Winter). The Ordinary is brand I’ve fallen in love with because of their unique skincare remedies along with a really great price tag!

So lets talk about the Coverage Foundation….

The Ordinary Coverage Foundation

First of all the price, so you can pick this up from ASOS for £6!

£6 I think is such a good price, considering a lot of the drugstore foundations are priced over £7 and most of them are around the £10 mark. So for £6 you’ve got yourself a pretty good deal! Although the bottle is only 30ml which isn’t that much, but it’s still good price!

I always buy from ASOS as well because I have the premier account (which is dangerous as I’m always on there).

Next up, I want to just mention the colour options. Normally a drugstore foundation only comes in like a maximum of 10 shades, but nope, not this one. This comes in 21 shades. yes 21!!!!!!!!!

I love this because I find it so hard picking the right shade, and to be honest, when I bought this one, I just had to guess because I couldn’t swatch it or anything. I picked up this in shade 2.0N Light Medium, and you know what, I actually think this is my perfect shade.

I think it does oxidise slightly, as when you first apply it, it seems lighter, and then when it drys it does actually turn into a darker shade, but not too dramatically.

The Ordinary Coverage Foundation

As you can see from this photo, for £6 it even comes with a pump applicator, making life easier for us girls when applying it. I don’t know about you, but I just seem to tip foundation out like it’s going out of fashion and that means I either waste it, wipe it all over my clothes, or I apply way too many layers!

But this, is just perfect!

Now coverage wise, I’d say yeah, this is pretty full coverage. I have tried quite a lot of drug store ‘full coverage’ foundations before and some of them are just not what they say on the tin. However, yeah I think we can say this gives good coverage.

It’s one of those foundations that isn’t thick at all but still leaves good coverage – if that makes any sense at all.

I like to compare full coverage bases to Double Wear but, this is no way near as thick in terms of texture than Double Wear. This is quite liquid and blends really easily.

It is a MATT finish, which I’m starting to love more and more as I swear my skin is getting really oily!

I wore this foundation all day yesterday and even after 10 or so hours, I didn’t really get any shine come through which is perfect!

I really really like this foundation, and I think I will be repurchasing this one again as it really works well with my skin.

Have you tried this foundation?

If so what are your thoughts?

Love, Rebecca xx

I’ve been wondering whether to try this foundation for ages but I think you’ve just sold it to me! I’m definitely a good coverage matte foundation kinda gal and if it’s good for oily skin I’m sold! Fab post lovely

I have this foundation and I must say it’s impressive for the price! I’ve had to play about a little with primers and application methods to get it to wear well (beauty blender seems to work best for me), but now I’ve found my way I reach for it quite regularly. Also love the wide range of colours and how it’s broken down by undertone, making it a little easier to guess when buying online. Fab post honey x

Thank you lovely, yes that’s what I need to do is play around with different primers I think as well! X

This sounds such a nice foundation! I hate matte foundations, they always look so flat on my skin, but this one is definitely tempting me to have a try again at wearing one. I’ve been after a full coverage foundation also so maybe I will check this out. Great review as always lovely xx

I’ve reached for the Serum Foundation slightly more than the Coverage but I definitely prefer this to any other full coverage drugstore foundation xx

I would really like to try this foundation, it looks so good but I haven’t seen anywhere to get colour matched and I don’t think I’m confident enough to buy online and risk it! xx

Oh it sounds wonderful. It is a shame it is matte as I love dewy, but a great one to be able to recommend.

Can’t say I blame you for switching to this brand. Such great prices! I need to try more from The Ordinary. I tend to choose a dewy look over matte but I could try it for a change. So good it comes in so many shades too! Have you used it with the Primer you have?

    Great post!
